Skilled Nursing Care at Carleton-Willard Village

Carleton-Willard's Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center stands apart from any other nursing home you may have seen. The difference begins with what you see when you step inside. Here you'll find the look and feel of home. Spacious, luxuriously carpeted private rooms (some with a shared bath) afford each Resident a separate entrance. Sunny windows overlook forest, field and garden. Favorite furnishings and treasured artwork bring warmth and personality to every room. The beautiful dining room, Upstairs at the Abbott, offers supportive table service and balcony seating in warmer weather.

But look beneath the surface and you will see the many things that reflect our commitment to providing each Resident with comfort, independence and meaning. Our bright and beautiful common areas are perfect for group activities and visits with friends. On any given day you might find a group of Residents creatively engaged in a watercolor class, or selecting items for a care package to be delivered to a new "pen pal" stationed in Iraq. Our exercise classes are more than just a way to keep moving. Carleton-Willard's fitness center won a MassAging award for creatively helping frailer individuals gain strength and flexibility.

Very few nursing centers across the country have a music therapist or a massage therapist on staff. At the Village you will find both - an example of our high standard of service. Our affiliation with Hospice of North Shore, the oldest and most respected hospice provider in eastern Massachusetts, is just one component of our innovative "Living Fully, Dying Well" program. Not just for those nearing the end of their lives, this innovative program is multifaceted, offering compassionate comfort and support to Residents and their families. The Center also welcomes rehabilitation and short term stays. Our specialized staff offers physical, speech, and occupational therapies, wound and IV care, and much more.
